Back when anime was a thing on TV, you know, saturday morning cartoons and stuff (something zoomers don't know about) TV-Y7-FV was the rating for most childrens anime. I remember anytime the raiting just went up to TV-PG-V or even TV-14 I'd look at my siblings and we'd think we're watching some hardcore shit.
Or like even when Cartoon Network started showing the uncensored Naruto the rating went up to PG. I think that's when CN started getting desperate and wanting the older audience to stick around as their ratings dropped and anime disappeared in doves. It really is because you're an adult now.
