What is more reliable to grind?
Mindully grinding from life or mindfully grinding from images?
Or both?
Yet, drawing from lief seems a lil bit harder, and it "forces" you kinda to think more.

I unironically feel like proko set me back. Namely his bean/robo bean method and his head method. Trying to learn and apply what he tried to teach caused me so much grief and made me stop drawing

Proko is a trap for unsuspecting /beg/s. He's like moderndayjames but far more insidious because his broad knowledge of anatomy and academic skill bedazzles people into following him for years. The polar opposite of these charlatans is Steve Huston - his technique doesn't look like much to a beginners eye but there's a simple pragmatism to it which produces massive gains

There was a point time where all I would draw was beans. I have a sketchbook filled with beans, just a month long period where I would watch proko drawing and talking about beans and then fill out three pages of my own beans. I showed my father my beans and he hit me and told me to either get a job or start drawing actual people.

Prokos method makes sense why he does it once you watch watts atelier videos, but watts' method isn't the best for beginners, however it's pretty good if you have proportions down. Otherwise proko is just watered down villppu, a much better gesture teacher.
Prokos not a bad choice to get into gesture drawing. But after some more grinding, I haven't found too many of his methods following me.
