>>5883731What you defined is an anatomical diagram, not art. Art is meant to be aesthetic and evoke an emotion, not realistic. Sure if you want soulless biology diagrams, you can declare a set of axioms and definitions pertaining to it, but even Proko isn't that soulless. He often uses deliberately incorrect anatomy to emphasise gesture. Gesture is by far the most fundamental stage of figure drawing, and there really is no way to define it mathematically. Even hypothetically if you could develop certain soulful axioms for anatomy, I can't think of a single way to define gesture. It took mathematicians centuries to define continuity of a line, good luck defining gesture.
Moreover, almost every artist breaks rules, because they feel it suits their current piece better. Lost edges for example is incorrect. Many artists including Kim Jung Gi uses inconsistent perspective, simply because it looks more aesthetic than the correct alternative. So developing consistent axioms is out of the question. Defining something that is intrinsically inconsistent and badly defined using a system whose aim is to be consistent, is kind of pointless.
The most you can do is develop certain rules to help you alleviate the plethora of decisions you have to take when drawing. Vilppu, for example, uses modelling tone which is sort of a self imposed axiom for lighting. Modelling tone can greatly improve your lighting in figure drawings because it takes away the infinite decisions you have for where and how light can be.
