I also put one of those adjustable lap tray/tables on top of my main desk, so I can lay it flat when I'm just using my pc, but I can also raise it to different angles instead of leaning over it or bending my neck when drawing.
I've switched from a tablet to an iPad, so now I have to adjust the angle a bit higher to spare my neck/back, but it's worked pretty well so far and hasn't caused me any pain like I had before I added the lapdesk.
