Never painted before - let alone in photoshop, and was originally gonna commission some covers. But then I saw encouraging threads on here.
So i pirated CS4, and watched a dude on youtube explain how brushes work etc.

It took ages to do this, since my laptop is slow as balls, but this is the result of my first time painting.
The actual picture's meant to be a book cover, but i made a desktop background of it too.

I guess if I can do this, you can do art too! YGMI.
