Is XNALara a good program for 3d models to use as drawing reference? Or is there a better one? Obviously I don't want to model in 3d I just want to view them. Blender seemed too complex, is XNALara the best for what I'm trying to do? I don't even really want to pose I just need reference for the head.

nope. it's functional for fapping purposes, but it is atrociously bad for posing shit by yourself
daz is also horrible. design doll is the best one, and blender with a decent rigged model is fine

i didn't read your post before answering. if you just want to check out a model ripped from a game, xnalara is the best way
sketchfab is another great way of using tons of models made by users as reference
