It's a nightmare creating anything complicated in CAD cause you can basically extrude or cut 2D shapes, sometimes along a curve to make more complex operations, and that's it. Much easier doing a drawing then translating that to CAD, which is how almost every designer works. Not doing that would be akin to dropping pen and paper in maths cause a TI-84 exists
