>>5879788I relate completely, that's exactly what happened with me. My issues with color were so bad I was starting to get worried I might have color blindness. Turns out I just needed to understand more of the mechanics to know how to reproduce colors I was seeing.
That said though, I still haven't figured out how to do the insane dynamic coloring I see in especially Asian art like you mentioned. They'll have a character with some kind of crazy rainbow fractal pattern making up the color of their hair but it looks right somehow. Or making it look like a character has an intense colored light shining on them or something. For that stuff I've been looking at other sources and so far I've found Marc Brunet's videos on how to color characters helpful too. I'd recommend you check those out after Bucci's vids. He uses a lot of normal or flat layers so it's important to know how to manually shift color.
