Many more wish to imitate the style, and it is a growing preoccupation. I have met them. They can draw well enough, but still missing something.
Old master drawings hold a special category when it comes to collections, so people do like this style.
#2 still admits it takes time to develop, not something someone can just pick up. There are freaks who use historical materials like special kinds of natural chalk who can't do it well. I doubt someone doing digital is going to fare better.
