They don't care, they operate like phone scammer pajeets i.e. they call a thousand different people hoping that one guy would pick them up.

I vented about this situation a few months back and there was an anon who actually listened and drew for the beggar.

There's someone who over the course of several years has messaged me like three times on different alts asking me to draw art of characters inside giant bubbles. Someone talked about them on Twitter later, so apparently they do it to a lot of people. At least the wonder bread guy pays for his stuff.

I never put my socials on pictures and sign with the same scribbles I use IRL. Request schizos are usually to ungrateful to ask for a blog and too retarded to use proper image search extensions, we're talking about people who can't even use MS paint to put references together or are too lazy to.

I was stupid enough to deliver a few of these requests, before I did paid commissions. They are always the least grateful out of any requester too. You'll be lucky to get a 'thx' comment from them on their pic

somewhat related how has delivering in the drawthreads worked for you so far? Ive been lurking a few threads and delivering some stuff, some dude called me a chicken scratcher but the overall majority liked my art, I havent even tried to plug my social media i just deliver stuff i think would be fun to draw, still i feel a bit bad about seeing my drawings not identified and tagged as unknown artist.

Do some comms. I always charge up front but I always feel like shit when I do that and end up taking forever. Nobody likes waiting for a comm so I decided to try doing 'pay half now, pay rest on finished comm'.

And then proceeded to get scammed by two guys using sockpuppet accounts. Basically getting me to do a free sketch for them and then they just not paying up.

I felt like a cunt. Kinda stopped doing comms for people outside of friends.

I have so much commission work that I can't possibly take requests
I can't even draw for myself at this point, but I don't mind
I just ride the wave because there's time when I have TOO much time to draw for myself, such is the freelancer way

That's in your head. As an artist I want to give my best on comms so i never rush them. I'm pretty sure clients also rather you take your time and produce prime instead of a rushed job.
