Also, perspective: if the humans to draw are on the same ground as you, their eyes will be on the horizon line.
Finally, approximate: on such a scale as your pic, a few small dots/carrots, distributed in space as people are in a crowd will be enough for the viewer's brain to understand from context what's happening. Look at how lose watercolorists simplify cars & people.
