>>5869024Since I’ve been doing digital stuff I guess I haven’t really made any effort to make it lighter since you can just easily erase it. Pic related was some quick sketch from awhile ago that’s basically what most of my hand drawn under drawings kind of look like if I don’t clean them up. I think doing the circle and line can help keep the distance and proportions of the eyes good as you’re starting, where you can avoid drawing the second eye a little off without realizing it, but after that I feel like trying to loomis everything can be more work to get to the same place. Like once you’ve got an eye and brow and eye bags and stuff you can pretty much see how big and far away the nose needs to be, then once you got a nose and eyes you can see how wide the mouth needs to be and so on. And as long as you’re keeping the eyes and nose in the circle you know you’re not really fucking up.
Idk I’m definitely not the best to be giving construction drawing advice. 90% of my hand drawings I’m planning on covering in paint so they often look like Scribbly shit where Im only concerned with having the general proportions close enough. Then it’s still often not very close and has to be fixed while painting.
