Mitsubishi Hi-Uni are the best you can get and only ~$24 for a dozen.

I use some Koh-I-Noor I bought in Czech Republic where it was cheap as fuck. I also like Faber-Castell.

Staedtler work fine for me, but I mostly use mechanical rotring's now since I do mostly architectural drawings.

Pencilfags require good pencil for a lot of thing, texture, layering... Sure you can do the same with cheap pencil and the differences are hard to notice but pencilfags are just that picky for their arts.

I use Koh-i-noor 2.0 graphite in lead holders. They are more than good enough.

Koh-i-noor yellow pencils (not even the highest quality they offer) are the only thing that the Russians of the Repin / Imperial Academy of art use. Check out any of their videos and you will see. (www.akademika.pro)

Nobody needs anything more than Koh-i-noor or Faber-Castell 9000 series. Just go with whichever is cheaper where you live.

That said the Staedtler Lumograph, Uni Mtisubishi and Black wings are marginally smoother. But ususally don't justify the price.

If you don't break your pencils all the time you'll see that pencils can last a long time from beginning to end. So, Better to just buying expensive pencil is buying a pencil extender. So that you can use the whole pencil. I like the Derwent ones, but they are expensive, Aliepress has any type and color you might and for way cheaper.
