>a perfect excuse for your failure and lack of effortThis is the problem with modern world, when someone is left to their luck and they can't find success in spite of trying with countless endeavors, sacrifices and applying multiple formulas, of course society won't take resposability for upping their unreasonable standards, the people are to blame for being lazy, not trying enough, etc...
You can see that poverty isn't a result of people being mediocre but a result of a selfish system that only awards the naturally talented and discards the ones who try hard.
We already live in a dystopian world, only that they can't really force eugenics, but society can hinder who may be part of their world or be discarded, it only takes IQ measurements tests and the amount of college degrees to do so.
After all, society needs people who improve our current world, and knowing that technology-art-science has reached a high ceiling point, it's obvious that not everyone can be part of such world, they need geniuses.
