>>5864982Reason number 1# I'm in here is that at times I stumble upon interesting or informative content. And I'll always appreciate the aspect of anonymity of this site. I just wish there was at least internet corner where transgender bullshit won't be fucking center of attention for at least a goddamn minute.
Whole point of 4chan is that it was never meant to be something mainstream. It's a cesspool, with stupid shitposting, meme spamming, thread derailing. But big difference back then and now, is that back then I wasn't ashamed of using it. I crossposted my work to my art profile and to /a/ with drawthreads. No one ever gave me shit for it.
Moment where that all went to shit was with American politics being central of fucking everything. Yes, I know majority of internet sites that are mainstream are USA owned. But moment MSM started treating /pol/ and Pepe as some Nazi boogey man is moment where they gave outlet for real incels and racists ground to breed. Those morons from MSM failed to realize that /pol/ is a containment board, just as /mlp/ and similar are. Suddenly whole site is demonized as this breeding ground for racists, meanwhile some fucking 15 years ago that same media would applaud whole Project Chanology for going against force like Scientology. Talk about irony.
Big difference between 4chan and rest of the ''mainstream internet today'' that, 4chan in all of it's retardation, in last 16 years I've been here, at least it didn't insult my intelligence. I knew where I was, and it allowed me to experience chaos of it. I never became suddenly racist because ''memes'' from /pol/.
I just wish there was at least ONE corner in the internet where I won't have to deal or read about transgender and coomer bullshit.
That said, remember: 4chan was never good.
