I already know how to draw a box in perspective, I'm a beginner but i do not see how this is helpful. Literally what I've been doodling since a kid, drawing boxes is not what I have trouble with. And the course literally says bu the end you should be able to draw anything, sans shading and such, by the end of it. Meanwhile these are the results of the creator

maybe you should keep looking into it then instead of turning your nose at the slightest fault
drawabox is based off of the dynamic sketching class by peter han and while i do think the original is superior it still takes you down the same path towards achieving picrel
emphasis on path, youre not going to be able to draw like this or even that well by the end of it, but it teaches the necessary fundamentals
you can skip the 250, it's a meme, just draw them on the side every now and then and youll be fine

The problem is that beginners are recommended dab under the impression it will help them draw cute girls, because girls are 3d objects just as cubes.

Frankly I fell for that trap as well - it took me over a month to do all the exercises, all of those retarded challenges and my cute girls didn't improve at all. Thank god I'm past that stage now.

It's like the other guy said: I got better at drawing boxes. I figured out how to do some basic textures in ink. My linework got marginally better. And that's pretty much it if I remember correctly - I did it 2 years ago or something like that.

i couldnt recommend it in good faith, uncomfortable's inability to both teach/explain and provide a base to draw well shows through.

Getting proficient with the boxes is a prerequisite to start learning any anatomy. If you ever actually startt learning anyting on your own it will go like

And his is basically the order that DAB, Lumis or robertson teach be absolute basics.

If you're brand new and can't hold a pencil for shit or feel the space and foreshortening your anatomy studies aren't going to go very well.

I hate to be that guy because it's all very nitpicky, but the muscle indications aren't quite accurate. I think the underlying structure should be something more like this. the ECRL starts from behind the bicep and wraps in front of it to tie around the wrist. the extensors start from the same point but go straight down to the wrist and are layered underneath the ECRL. the pecs tuck underneath the deltoid but overtop of the biceps to attach to the humerus... all very small things, I think my main qualm is just with the indication of the ECRL.
he's not giving an anatomy lesson here so I don't think it's too big of an issue. it's maybe just a matter of informed mark making

DAB doesn't teach the anatomy.

He teaches the absolute basics. And while he can be desribed as "Dynamic Sketching retold badly" the hate he gets on /ic is only for the fact he actually teaches something and the local talent/asian/high-test/apahantasia crabs don't like that.

There is no shortage of "actual teachers" to choose from. If anything a crab would be more than happy to direct people to suboptimal learning resources like DAB while smearing teachers with real credibility.

I don't think it's nitpicky at all, the ECRL can evn be seen in an untrained forearm meaning a rendering of the original drawing would look quite strange.

But I think the author just didn't mean to draw the wrist pronated, so they essentially just put the hand on the wrong way.

I like Valerie Winslow's 'Classic Human Anatomy', it's the most comprehensive and detailed anatomy book I've read. It shows every muscle, tells you its origin, insertion, and action, and has plenty of ecorche drawings to help you understand how they all fit together. Unlike Bridgman or Hogarth, the drawings are quite clear and unstylized.

Oops, that sounds a little sarcastic... I think you're absolutely right though, that's a supinated forearm with a pronated hand. It's a goofy mix up, but the anatomy is otherwise not too bad.
