>>5857532The internet's been becoming more centralized for the entire span of its existence. Since everybody wants to go where everybody else is, it's a race to the largest audience. DA, pixiv, tumblr simply don't have the size as Twitter or Insta since it contains everybody rather than just artists/art enjoyers (as does tumblr but tumblr had a huge exodus of users when they banned porn). What that means is that Twitter and Insta are the default go-to social media platforms for artists, and DA, pixiv, tumblr etc are extras (that you should be uploading to anyway, it's not like there's a downside) that some artists don't bother with.
On the flip side there's some artists who stay away from posting on twitter/insta, but these people are the minority.
