You could go on google and search up a list of climate types, then research those on wikipedia. Or use a list of your own locations that come to mind. Marsh, swamp, steppe, butte, desert, tropical rainforest, temperate rainforest, shallow coastal seas, deep sea, mountains above a certain altitude, regions that seasonally flood and experience drought, etc.
With mountains for example, certain plants can only grow in certain altitudes. It gets too cold and the air to thin for plants that live near sea level at high altitudes. That naturally changes the type of animals that live there. A specific example of a plant with a particular climate and altitude is coffee. You can't grow it below or above a certain altitude, and it must grow in the equatorial zone between the tropics.
