this is some good stuff, but let me ask : why do you want to sell his paintings? do you hate your dad? when my grandfather died my family and i kept several of his belongings to remind us of him, i have several notebooks with notes written by him and i've never thought about throwing them away, because i don't want to.
to me, it just seems disrespectiful to your dad. i don't know you, he may have been a shit person, or he may have always wanted to sell his painting, or you are in an extreme financial situation, but without knowing if any of that is true it just sounds sad.
and on selling them, you may have some luck selling them as decorations or to some obscure art collector, but without it belonging to a know painter it will be harder to find people who see value in it.
