But concept art is barely about drawing anymore, it's photobashing and 3d too. Seems to me like if you wanna have fun drawing, concept art isn't a great option.

I draw around 4-6 hours a day but sometimes I get a bit manic and draw for like 14 hours.
I'm still barely past beg but Im having fun and Im getting better pretty much every week.
Idk if you really have to do it this way to get good because I havent yet but it is very much possible to do it that long and still have fun.

It's not so much about time I think. You can have fun drawing that amount because you're drawing on your terms. You choose the subject, you choose when to move on from a piece, but in a professional setting you don't have these freedoms. If you aren't freelance you have even less freedom. Taking a hobby to a professional level always runs the risk of spoiling it, that's just something you have to overcome.
