During the pandemic I’ve gotten a private office after a coworker left (and regretted leaving, whoops) which combined with the virus has given me untold levels of privacy in the workday. Daily I bring in my sketchbook, notebook, ipad, pen case and reading material, and have a toned sketchbook dedicated to keeping in my office so I don’t have to lug it around and bend it. While I do a fair amount of work and stand out at my company as a young up and comer, I’ve gotten insane amounts of reading, writing and drawing done. I study from books and reference materials and do drawings and exercises almost undisturbed. I got a huge promotion this year and have been drawing the whole time. Remote work is over because of corporate mentality, but I basically never stay longer than a 5 hour window, sometimes just 2-3 hours and leave since my direct supervisor is swamped in other areas.
The only limit is that I can’t study from life there, but that’s hardly a negative considering all the benefits I get. I do life drawing outside of work hours.
