First off, her face is off in all sorts of manners: it's sliding off her skull, the left eye is way too small compared to the right, and her lips are flat-looking, like they aren't three-dimensional. Draw a quick sketch of the head's angle over her current face so you can fix it and check back from time to time.
Next, I like the lily pads a lot, but I dislike how repetitive and perfect they all are. Look up real lily pads and you will see that they often have frayed edges, water droplets sitting on them, etc. Right now they look boring as fuck, almost like they get in the way of the beautiful image, and it's annoying. It'd also be cool if they changed perspective to match the girl's angle. So like at the top there, the lily pads would be seen from underneath. Also, the leather straps are something I'd consider getting rid of, because they cover up important parts of the face like the ears and where the jaw meets the ear. This covering up ends up making the face look a bit odd; plus in your current sketch, we can't see the back of her neck, like you just left it blank. Finish that. If you must keep the straps, have them free-floating like they're in water. Other than that, I'd slap a plain color bg on it and start painting so the colors are all unified.
