You cant fix the big 2. Marvel/DC suck because they keep constantly disrupting comics, refuse to market the books, and hire dogshit writers. The earlier ages of comics were just as or more politicical but back then they hired way better writers and artists. Image and dark horse let artists and writers actually work but they also dont market for shit

You could very easily use free platforms to host and publish anthology books (shonen jump is basically an anthology) online for free. If you start today then unironically maybe you could start monetizing it in 5 years and make marvel/dc take you seriously in 20 years.
The game dev community already does the free contest thing and they get tons of participation. Game jams like ludum dare are a big deal every year and iirc LD either doesnt have any cash prize or didnt start with one.
I definitely think one of the reasons comics today are bad is because people keep letting them be bad.
Make your own comics today, make reading lists for decent comics today, buy decent comics if you can today. You all know whats wrong so why do you need marvel/dc specifically to change? It shouldnt matter if its specifically spider-man or your ohsee donut steele.
