they harbor the delusion that digital art is really easy and so should always be mindblowingly spectacular. This is somewhat the fault of twitter/instagram/tiktok artists and their clickbait "process" videos where they show you "neat drawing hacks" and make it seem like you can easily create a masterpiece with "this one simple trick". Social media has harmed digital art in irreparable ways.

People tend to appreciate things they can physically hold. Printing your digital works automatically makes it more appealing as opposed to showing someone your greasy phone or sending an image.

It is a lot easier though. You have powerful software and a lot of conveniences at your finger tips. You also only have one tool to learn, with conveniences that traditional will never have, to be able to do what would take a huge range of tools and techniques in traditional.

Also, when it's just on paper it looks immediately more real, because it's irl, physical, and it's a simpler test of skill that can't be gimmicked.

A lot of people look at digital art and they have no idea what it is or how it was made. I think that makes a lot of people assume its just cg fuckery.

But if you show someone a pencil drawing they instantly know what that is and also have used the tool before so they can relate to it in a "Hey I cant do that! How did you do that?!" Kind of way.
