They fixed the web browser posting, its actually usable now. No ads on web

And the hashtags actually work which is nice, and i can write more than 256 char, although nobody reads it

I think they changed it so that you can post from desktop. I see the option to do it but I haven't actually tried it myself.
Everything else is still a pain in the ass, though.
As much as I dislike ig, it's the second-highest following count I have after Pixiv.

Instagram is better than every other social media for viewing art other than artstation.
You just lick an account and get an image focused archive of all of their uploads. Trying to look at an artists media uploads on twitter past a week back is pure cancer.
The algorithm for finding new artists or similar artists to what you already follow is very good. At worst I have to click "not interested" on some memes once a month.
I only follow artists I like though, I don't follow friends or any accounts that don't just post art that I like. This probably helps my explore feed a lot.
The hashtags are also great for searching for art unlike twitter.
The compression isn't better or worse than twitter imo. I also have a bookmarklet to show me the original image upload for saving stuff but just a normal addon for downloading all images works as well.

Also the fact that artists rarely post text with their retarded opinions or memes or discord bullshit makes instagram so much better.

Maybe if you're a western puritan that only likes simple drawings from starters, but you can't even zoom in, can't have an alternative aspect ratio except for mostly sqaure.
Also it's super easy to trick yourself into thinking you have an audience, Instagram is really the lowest of the low when it comes to effort, even not posting anything will get you followers. You can post literal beg tier art and get 100 likes.
It's fun if your brain works on dopamine attained from fake recognition, but if you actually care about your art, improving yourself, getting actual feedback, Instagram is shit tier.
