Maya is pretty much the industry standard for animation. I've used it and character rigging is still fucking tedious as fuck, I can't imagine it's easier in Blender.

Also unironically google it instead of asking here. Blender will get you very far and is quite powerful for free software. If you ever joined a big studio and they used 3ds/maya you might take a week with some coaching to readjust
