Paint.Net sufficed, I didn't have a tablet until I had enough money to buy one, before that it was using a mouse to actually make some interesting art, same with the price of a PC, I didn't own my own laptop until my second year of college. And yes, DA tutorials and lack of any resources or any community to help improve was lacking. Now you have Discords where people give 24/7 critiques and advice, YT tutorials out the wazoo, free digital book rips, in person tutorials to watch, etc. But even that is a bit of a cope for me because I'm just lazy asf and have had depression since my teens, and drawing is just a hobby now, had dreams of gmi, but life just butt fucks some peeps.
