I want to get into sculpture, where do I start? Obviously I need to get the tools, but outside of that what are good stones to start with or resources for practice?

Maybe it's better to practice on model clay before stones? Also Styrofoam can be an option, it's easy to carve with sharp tools. Do you like Indian sculpture of 10-12 centuries?

Clay (water base/caramic) + plaster for finished pice.
Some wire, tool to cut wire, scrap wood, spacula, knife, plastic bucket (don't use buckets after paint, they are to weak).
