yes, i keep my pureref open at all times on a monitor, and have a massive organization of pass commissioner's references. it's handy to just re-find the old group of refs ive gotten if theyre return customers.

my current scene is like 500mb filesize

I wouldn't even call pureref useful, it's just a fundamental tool at this point. I don't know what kind of witchcraft is going on under the hood that makes it run so smooth even with very large files and hundreds of images but I'm not complaining.

ps. learn the shortcuts, it's worth it

It's great. Making a board full of let's say armor reference that I'm looking at is so much more useful than scrolling through all my saved pics on pinterest and opening 15 tabs just to look at the pictures in better detail.

Pureref is dangerously based, I just wish the automatic arranging was smarter.

Often use it not only for refs, but for making collages.

I use pureref for gesture drawing.
Grab all the refs I want to draw from Eagle, drag them into pureref. ctrl+shift+alt+ down to arrange all in a grid and then alt+s to start slideshow mode. Timer is set in preferences. Easy and fast.

I drop everything I need on a different canvas and make it a floating window on CSP, if I need or can trace or color pick something I can just do that directly and sometimes I'll copy/paste a part if the pose/object's perspective matches well enough. I use the same color palette always, it makes everything generic but at least I get to skip some steps

I just use Raindrop because I don't do digital art, so I'd get no use out of overlaying references and paying for what amounts to just pinterest boards doesn't seem worth it

nowadays I'm using it for more than just references. lots of youtube bookmarks, psd archive and even all the books and tuts I've downloaded.

I've used Hydrus before but it was ugly, very basic and unintuitive

There's also Allusion, with way less features but both work fine if you are poor.

This thread is my first time hearing about pureref, and now I'm wondering if there's anything else I'm missing out of in terms of digital drawing kit
All this time I've just been exclusively using CSP and nothing else, just googling references and using them as I need

Allusion seems good enough and doesn't make an extra copy of all your pictures like a greedy little cunt.
Also you can drag the pics straight into photoref.

Is there any meaningful feature it's lacking? I'm a programmer, if it's something that makes my dick erect I may consider porting it.

Clean organized folder structure usable with any program VS everything tossed into the same folder and renamed for eagle's db use.

What is your use case that eagle doesn't work with?
Why would you want to go through folders when you can just sarch tags(or folders) in eagle and easily find refs?

In clip studio paint edit>pick screen color. I have it set to a hotkey so it's just as convenient to use as the standard color picker

It creates a .library file(just a folder) with a backup, tags and image folder where a copy of all the files you import into eagle.
Each file in a separate folder with a thumbnail and tags(json).
