Working on a new multiplayer browser game, what do You think of the art?

It's one of the eight cities, background isn't ready yet so don't mind that.

to judge effectiveness how does it work: do you control a character in this space 3rd person, or do you click on stuff hidden-object style? (orthographic projections in games have a lot of "charm" is there a reason you aren't going that route?)

There are things on the tavern (?) on the right that feel strange like stretched back in space, relative to the size of the barrels the booths in the courtyard seem small etc. But I think your consistent use perspective overall demonstrates competency.

Looks outdated - especially because of the color choices.

But overall it has a cozy feeling to it, and its "retroness" might be a selling point.
You put a lot of effort in roof tiles and just botched the water/grass, please redo that.

Finally, pay attention to contraste - those boats are GLOWING compared to the pier, dark as my soul.

That tree on the back is also pretty ugly.

That's it, overall good job.

Uhh... 10, it does its job. (I'm assuming this is some point and click kind of thing like Adventure Quest/Neopets)

5, I don't play games anymore, but the art is definitely not something that would make me not want to play it.

It's a neopets kinda thing, so yeah, basically you click on a house and then you can do an action.

Thanks for the feedback so far. I'll definitely work on these points - I've been drawing for a total of month or so, so I'll definitely get there.

first thing that struck me is that your proportions are all over the place. I understand you're trying to establish depth but the giant slabs leading up to the bank make the stalls right across from it look positively minuscule. the blue roofed house has a tiny door and giant steps based on the tavern's stairs that are about the same distance away from the viewer. it feels like you'd have to clamber on hands and feet to climb the stairs all the way in the back.

also look up how ceramic roof tiles are arranged, pretty sure the way they're laid out on the right would make them speed bumps instead of channels for water to run down.
