I agree, I think the memory-less nature of the board makes it difficult for some ideas to stick; also, coming from IT, I expected people to google most of their issues before asking for help, but not that's not culturally ingrained on general. Even in IT, this is not everywhere; I've just been lucky to be in an environment where such rules were known and mostly respected.
I haven't actually checked that much the literature recently: I have more ressource that I'll ever have time to read/study; thought once in a while there are worthy gems being posted. Also, I tend to prefer real books, easier to work from (pure trad), harder to hoard.
One thing that I find particularly concerning are people who do horrible yet think they're doing good, despite being able to compare their results with the best artists's. The psychological biais are amazing to observe. Also, the endless conflicts were people look at the same coin from a different perspective and who fight tooth and nails instead of taking a step back. It's amusingly confusing to think that one can be both right and wrong at once on the same subject.
>like that one thread where one anon showed his process for lighting skin.I must have missed it; do you have an approximate date? (I'm currently working my oil technique, on skin).
>>5821202Hu, how does this work? Like, funny cat/dog clips? Or the "infamous" forced-laugh group therapy that we see in the movies or something?
