>>5827140How you find what you need is a matter of necessity. Do you care more about a potential short term perception, or getting to a place where you can be open and honest in love and appreciation of life, versus the open honesty you need to tackle the miseries you face now?
Judgement is a loaded word, and it doesn't sound like it, but if your mother were the type to think less of you simply because you have problems, then you need to talk to someone else, no other way about it. Which you might benefit from new eyes one way or another. But on the other hand, if it's simply that you can't bear being thought less of, then you better get over it, or continue to needlessly suffer(more).
Of course it's scary and painful, though, cue the marble and the sculptor quote. And no one starts out a master sculptor, which is why you'll generally find the best ones with a hole in their leg from when a chisel slipped, with calluses and scars, and probably enough patches of plaster and wirework so as to be an artwork in and of itself. All because they saw something that gave them a need or desire to make that shit work, come hell or high water.
As to what other people think or see, nobody worth a damn will look down on someone who will honestly look at a piece of their own marble, and out of their heart take up the hammer and chisel. If they do, it's only because they won't pick up their own.
So talk to a shrink, a priest, your parents, or just write it all down until you're convicted to speak, but pick up your hammer one way or another future sculptorbro.
