Acrylic is a difficult medium to work with; if you're starting to paint, using oils will definitely helps you greatly. Use oils to learn how to mix, match colors, how to make hue/value/saturation scales, how to blend colors, for all the technical stuff that requires time to be mastered, time that acrylic doesn't give you easily, naturally.

>>5813272 suggested or the use of special mediums/vaporiser is worth the trouble if you intend to use acrylic in the end, but quite frankly, if you can work with oils, unless you have specific requirements (e.g. school, or as in the "old days", animation scenes color keys and the like), I'm not sure you'd want to stick with acrylic, oils are so much more convenient for an artist. I wouldn't be surprised that they sell for more too.
Plus, oils smell good. I mean. Come on.
