It takes artists a span of 3hours to finish a piece, but it took me over 3hours to finish this sketch and it's not even good. I'm always erasing, changing my mind, and spending too much time on a part...I need tips and advice on how to get quicker on completing a piece. Thank you.

Think before you draw any line
Draw something extremely simple, think about the angle of the lines, overlapping, silhouettes in a short period of time while drawing something extremely simple
Use a clock timer.
Reduce your time and quality over YOUR time

practice, I went from 18h, to 4h for a similiar work. You are still so far behind tho you should practice more, and another thing half an hour before starting to draw should be dedicated to brainstorm your idea and looking for references that can speed up your work

Before you start drawing, start with thumbnails. Something small and loose to get the idea and then work up from there. Having an idea of where you want to go instead of guessing, then using perspective and anatomy to solidify your idea will greatly help you out.

In your current pic, the person is bent completely in half, but the person holding them is only partially visible.

This took like 10 minutes for me. I was that quick because you essentially laid the groundwork and then I just figured out how to make that work. You'll get there. I believe in you and your pervert art.

It comes with experience. Draw more and you'll get faster and faster. There's no magic pill/course/book that will make you faster, sorry.

Try getting outside with a sketchbook & a fineliner. Try to capture a complex scene in like 30min/1h. Everyday, for months at least. Getting fast comes slowly.

Do gestures daily and try 1 hour speedpaints, doesn't matter if they're incomplete. Keep trying them and you will speed up
