>>5808578Ok, here is the secret back door out of the /beg/ cave. Are you ready?
Pick a 19th century illustrator that you like. If you don't have a favourite you should, there are loads of amazing ones. Get some high resolution images of their work, and zoom ALL the way the fuck in. Get right in there.
And then take a deep breath and let the illusion slip away.
A good drawing is about more than the application of perfect technical skill on every element. In fact most good artists will tell you that having your maximum level of detail on every square inch of a painting is an insane venture. Most good art is comprised of a lot of elements that aren't perfect on their own, its about what they combine in to.
Look at this. Kay Nielsen is considered one of the best of the 19th century golden age of illustration. Look at these legs, these feet. Yes, its a complex picture, but its made of elements that you, (YES YOU) CAN DO. you need to be patient, you need to work on it. You need to draw and let it happen and every time you look at something and feel disappointed you open up one of those hi res images and you zoom RIGHT THE FUCK IN and remind yourself that no one is perfect, so why the fuck should you be?
Take a deep breath and get drawing anon. You CAN do this. One step at a time, but get started.
