I dont trust my brain. My technical skills are being bottlenecked by my shitty ability to identify if something looks uncanny or appealing. I get by through asking friends and others for critique tho.

I don't understand the general concept of how to convert visual imagery into lines on a page. Drawing from imagination and drawing from life both seem completely impossible. It's not "the hand" that's at fault, as I can generally place lines where I intend to, I just have no idea where I should even be trying to place them unless I'm copying a drawing.
