>>5802634Have two pieces of paper: cheap paper, and final paper, preferably of higher quality.
Take the cheap paper, work your block-in onto it. Once you're satisfied, put some charcoal/graphite on the back of that piece of cheap paper.
Now, put the coated site of the cheap paper on the final paper, and transfer that block-in to the final paper. Make a few tests before so you don't end up with a mess/nothing on the other side.
You can then continue drawing on the final piece of paper, where you'll have less erasing to do. It's also a great way not to have to worry about centering the drawing, as you can adjust that when transfering.
You can also use transfer paper, but that's one more step: transfer the drawing from cheap paper to the transfer paper, coat the other side of the transfer paper, and repeat the same process.
You can use some umber oil paint instead of graphite/charcoal were you to be willing to transfer the drawing on a canvas/panel for oil painting.
Hope it's clearer.
And draw on a vertical board, using your pencil like a brush, this way, your palm won't touch the paper, which you should avoid if you want fine result (skin oil can mess up the paper/graphite, especially if you use smudging tool)
