going to give you a bit more advice just in case you really want to be serious about that hobby

>chickenscratch is ok at the sketching stage and sometimes unfinished lines will look better when you finish something, you won't get this now but you will very much later on
>don't be afraid to copy other people's drawings by using your eyes, try to keep tracing at a minimum because it doesn't teach you much IMO

Proko videos on YT are your friends. The channel has a lot of industry professionals advice. When in doubt, ignore /ic/ and go there.

Find a balance between drawing what you like and exercises, or you will either burn out or stagnate.

honest advice. grab a pencil/pen, imagine something you like and have fun.

bonus, you can grab a book about reading (keys to drawing is pretty good) and just read it. If you like it you can do some of the exercises to past the time.
