Is there a point in doing studies (copying, tracing) of body parts without a solid background in anatomy or perspective?

Yes. Art was traditionally taught by copying master works, generally starting with body parts (eye, noses, bits of profile, hands, arms, etc.)

I meant tracing or copying muscles (an other anatomical parts) without knowing how they are called etc...
