Anyone know any places you could host a fancomic? Like a fancomic that I update on an on-going basis, as if it were a serialized manga? Is making my own site my only option? How much trouble could I potentially get into if I made a crossover comic using the Fate Holy Grail War system (seven masters, seven servants with agent noun class names, Heroic Spirits, battle to the death for a wish-granting device that may be something other than a grail, maybe magecraft) but all of the characters and world come from a different series with a really permissive fanart policy? I don't know how anal Type-Moon is, but I figure they wouldn't care if the only thing I'm lifting is essentially a mechanic instead of characters and setting. The most troublesome part would probably be using the same terms (heroic spirit, master, servant, saber, caster, etc. as trademark issues) I have checked Type-Moon's copyright policy (http://typemoon.com/copyright), but it's a bit vague when it comes to "doujin goods."

"Regarding doujin goods, items that can be clearly judged to be beyond the scope of "doujin activities", such as production and distribution for commercial purposes, are prohibited." Like, I'm sure that clause would mean I couldn't publish the fan comic with a traditional comic publisher since that would be clearly "commercial," but if I wanted to offer print copies for sale on the same site as where I'm offering the webcomic for free, would that set them off? Would accepting patreon or similar for one week-earlier access to new chapters set them off either?
