>>5785993The only good servers are small ones, usually private, otherwise they have a short life-span as more people join. I'm in a private discord with a lot successful artists on social media and in the industry. The server is serious, there are no channels for posting your own work, and people don't stream their work in VC, so there is no room for personal ego and drama to get involved. The purpose of the server is to have meaningful discussions and share ideas and inspirations. If you aren't actively contributing in the community you are kicked pretty quick. They also have competitions with a new prompt every month purely for merit and discussion, its voluntary but its a way for the newer artists to build credit for themselves and not get kicked for being a lurker. They have a couple channels for gaming together but that's about it.
If your server has a channel for posting your own work or even a WIP or critique channel, the server is going to have drama and probably cause its own demise, especially if the server is public and you get a lot of new people. If your server has a meme or off-topic channel and they are the most active, it is not an art server.
