How does one get into sculpting?

Are you required to be a painter or anything first? Do you need some kind of engineering skill?

It’s a seperate but related skill. You can make bronze sculptures with a ‘lost wax’ process, starting with a clay sculpture, so maybe start with clay.

Start simple, air dry clay, go get some and play with it. if you want to try some really cool composition. I recommend buying some 1mm wires to create an armature.

Drawing is good complementary skill to sculpting.
If you want to start, just do it. Start with clay and use plaster for mould and end sculpt.
