>>5782954Actually maybe 10 years ago I was looking into car design schools. I found one in Tokyo, which I did a year abroad in Tokyo I have friends there, I speak Japanese. So I was hung ho about it. Did a bunch of research. I made friends with an American who went there. I ended up not going because I just couldn't find a way to finance it. You can't get scholarships to study abroad for car design from either country, and you can't work if you're a student over there and you won't have time for classes if you get a job as an English teacher which is basically the only job foreigners can do.
Anyway that dude, he told me it's so fucking political and nepotistic. Everyone is a diversity hire. All the designs are shit. If you're lucky you'll be designing a door handle on a Prius. You'll get paid nothing. The hours are shit. And in the end he ended up coming back to the states and being a ui/ux designer. And when I asked him how he funded it he said his girlfriend's parents paid for him. Then he has to pay them back. They got married, had 2 kids, she got woke and abandoned them and went back to Japan. It's a fucking tragedy. I think I dodged several bullets.
