What are the fundamentals of painting?
People agree that with drawing basic humans the fundies start off with line control, perspective, basic shapes, proportion and finally anatomy.
But what about painting? I've watched Marco Bucci and a little of Moderndayjames and they seem to have a consensus of needing to understand shapes, edges, values when learning to paint but it still seems like there are steps missing.
Is there any anon that feels confident with their paintings? If so what did you do to get better at it? Was there a daily method you incorporated into your practice that helped you improve, like grinding greyscale cubes and paint hundreds of portraits?
