Anyways when someone from a different country tries to imitate an art style of another, even when they try really hard it ends up feeling unauthentic. This is why koreans and chinese have different versions of the japanese anime style. They change it whether consiously or not, to feel "right" and right means whatever they are used to see in their country, what their country feels its good looking.
On the OP pic you can see how the artists felt like these mouths were good looking and correct, thus they made changes on the authentic japanese style and came up with an hybrid. And its not the only difference.
So this is the real reason on why some people can tell if a non-japanese artist made some anime thing. Since white people are extremely different, people from white countries will draw anime with the biggest differences.
