However, you can create an cheap imitation, and here is how you do it. Get your hands on a kiridashi knife, depending on how rich you are, if you are able to get an original japanese kiridashi knife, if not get a china made one, I am sure those chinks will have imitation of it. Get a piece of wood, again, if you are rich, get the japanese woodblock if not get a imitation woodblock. Cut the woodblock with the kiridashi knife. What you are doing is creating strokes. I will recommend, creating spacing of at least 2 cm/1 inch between each stroke to give it some space, it will be easy for you to digitalize. Create as many types of strokes as you can imagine, long, short, thick, thin etc.
After you cut up the entire wood block with your desired strokes, here is the most important part, you will use a printmaker's roller to layer of white over the woodblock, preferably titanium white or its alternative. Let it dry and you can either place the woodblock on a scanner for best result, or you can stick it on a flat wall or on a table, setup tripod and DSLR, aline it as much as you can to take a top down picture of it. After you get your image, you can digitalizes those strokes into brushes. Problem solved. Remember to thank the Gods and muses if you make it.
