Marxism is, to my knowledge, the first pro-atheist systemic proposal. It's also the thought system that literally killed the most.
One can argue that it wasn't applied "as intended", but Marx's rethoric can be manipulative & deceitful, so it's a bit difficult to properly evaluate what were Marx's genuine intents.
When people talk about "judeo marxist cancerous faggotry", there are multiple valid reasons behind. One of them is that e.g. the manipulative thought processes that justify notions like "white privilege" or systemic homosexuality precisely share similar rethoric with Marx's. They are also held by (relatively) leftist people.
The problem is, overall this requires a great deal of finesse to be properly interpreted, more finesse than what an average person is capable of.
And so, you have extremists/fanatics on both sides, but one side bears far much truth than the other.
