What/how you see vs all the dumb shit your brain does when trying to draw/paint are not the same. Black is rarely black, white rarely happens, things irl don't have shitty outlines etc. Michelangelo was great but Carrivaggio better.

You forgot shape: you connect colored (hue+value+saturation) shapes with edges as Lego pieces.

If you miss out on shapes, you miss out on drawing/proportions.

While the abstraction is interesting, and can help you bring far especially for observational art, it has its limitation.
