there is no reason you should be paid less than some retard flipping burgers or washing dishes, without even considering that you'll spend hours trying to promote, communicating, and downtime between commissions that will endlessly eat into your actual "working" hours, thats without considering whether a minimum wage is even feasible for you to actually even live on
if you live in the US thats $7/hour, more if you consider the non-"working" hours - and thats just to compete with jobs you could get hired in 5 minutes for
if someone went to school for engineering bachelors for 4 years, or went to plumbing school for 5 years, they'll be making $30/hour
if you spend thousands of hours learning to draw, learning to paint, learning composition/perspective/anatomy/color/lighting/form/etc i hope you end up charging closer to $30/hr than $7/hr
thats how much you "should" work for, not how much people will actually pay you for, in the end your wage is defined by retards on the internet
theres always some faggot peruvian or highschooler willing to do an anime drawing for $20 because their countries minimum wage is $1/hour or their parents pay their bills or something
but if you can't get at least $7/hr then I would rather go work at McDonalds 8 hours, come home do a few hours art, sleep 8 hours repeat, maybe do 8 hours on the weekend
If you just want to do it for "fun" or treat it as a "tip jar", then who cares, charge $5 for 5 hours work if you have a day job in software engineering and don't need the money.
