Or watch Karl Kopinski if you want an imagination only artist.
He can clearly paint but if you watch his painting videos he spends the first half with an ugly mess and plays with it until he starts looking like something vaguely good.
It works for him but it's such an assbackwards way of working that it's probably harmful for people learning to actually look at and think drawing is unimportant if you want to paint.
